Pure Elegance
The art of perfumery returns, thanks to two visionary hoteliers, says Claire Bloomfield.
Perfume House Elegantes London are extending their Heritage range with the launch of the all-new Personality Collection. But the twelve fragrances, brought to life by world-renowned perfumer Julien Rasquinet - the young creative prodigy of legendary perfumer Pierre Bourdon – are not in your run-of-the-mill mass produced atomiser.
Elegantes fragrances have a specially designed crystal flacon hand-blown by 103-year-old glass and crystal artisan, Waltersperger, and reminiscent of the swirling skirts of an haute couture ball gown. An alternative flacon has also been created in the shape of a black quartz monolith or the masculine scents. Each flacon, which is delivered in a hand-rolled silk scarf and box that has been handcrafted and made to order in France, also comes with a stopper top and can easily be refilled.
Founded by husband-and-wife hoteliers Thomas and Dagmar Smit, who are passionate about returning the art of perfumery to its historic beginnings by creating unique sensory experiences.
