Steve Jobs
The Apple co-founder and former CEO not only left his mark on the world by revolutionising our relationship with computing and mobile technology but through sheer creative genius that many of us aspire to. Here are our favourite pearls of wisdom from the late Steve Jobs
On making the most of today: Your time is limited. Don’t waste it living someone else’s life.
On leadership: Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.
On passion: The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it.
On vision: The ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones that do that.
On not being afraid to fail: Getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced with the lightness of being a beginner again.
On staying true to your vision: Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice.
On decision-making: I'm as proud of many of the things we haven't done as the things we have done. Innovation is saying no to a thousand things.
On entrepreneurship: I'm convinced that about half of what separates successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance.
On pushing yourself: Stay hungry, stay foolish.
On what he set out to do (and we believe he did): We're here to put a dent in the universe. Otherwise why even be here?
