VRCO's flying cars take Pelorus experiences to new heights
Flying car’ company VRCO and luxury experiential travel company Pelorus have teamed up for a match made in aerial heaven.
Imagine taking off and landing on yachts, flying through mountain ranges or jungles, and experiencing breath-taking aerial views of the most awe-inspiring places on Earth… all courtesy of a flying car.
All this and more will soon be possible, as VRCO, the Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft manufacturer, and Pelorus, the innovative adventure travel company, have teamed up to offer an unparalleled luxury travel experience like no other. The world-first partnership promises to deliver jaw-dropping trips to the world’s most beautiful and remote locations, marking a new era of exploration and adventure.
Pelorus will be receiving at least four of VRCO’s cutting-edge all-electric, four-person XP4 aircraft, expected to be certified in 2024, following extreme hot and cold weather testing. The four-person aircraft boast unmatched capabilities, including speeds of over 160 knots, advanced lightweight composites, detection and avoidance technologies, a ballistic parachute, and low-altitude crash prevention systems.
The partnership, marked by a shared commitment to sustainability and responsible travel, promises to open up a new world of possibilities for Pelorus’s UNHW (ultra-high-net-worth) clients: the company is already celebrated for creating extraordinary itineraries that take travellers to the most remote and culturally diverse places on Earth, from polar bears and the Northern Lights in Svalbard, to off-roading in Patagonia, and heli-skiing in Alaska. With Pelorus, clients have charted yachts equipped with submersibles, or ultra-luxury motor yachts with onboard spas and underwater lounges. This joint-venture now allows for immersive air-bound experiences previously limited by traditional aircraft.
“We have always prided ourselves on being at the very forefront of innovation within the travel experiences sector and strive to provide our customers with truly exclusive, boutique experiences, of the kind they would not get from any other travel company,” said Geordie Mackay-Lewis, co-founder and CEO of Pelorus. “In the past, the ability to transform perspectives with immersive air-bound experiences around the world has been somewhat limited by restrictions that come with the use of helicopters and similar aircraft, which are far more cumbersome and disruptive to the natural world.”
“The advent of the eVTOL market and products like the all-electric XP4 is therefore the natural and most logical way for us to expand our offering, and move the needle on sustainable air transport, while the aircraft’s luxury credentials are in perfect harmony with the top-end experiences we offer our clientele.”
Added Michael Smith, founder and CEO of VRCO, “The XP4 has unmatched capabilities which will allow our private owners to enjoy incomparable experiences. Unlike many eVTOL builders, our focus is not on the mass air taxi market but rather on private ownership by UNHW individuals. That is why our partnership with Pelorus is a perfect match, as our target customers are similarly discerning individuals who are looking for truly unparalleled products and experiences.” One thing’s for sure: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’s about to get a run for his money.
