Kohler Waters Spa reopens following multi-million renovation
In the heart of Scotland, the luxury Kohler Waters Spa at the Old Course Hotel is the only Kohler Waters Spa outside the USA. And following a multi-million refurbishment it’s now reopened for business…
Overlooking the famous links courses, the West Sands Beach and the beautiful Scottish coastline of St Andrews, the prestigious Old Course Hotel is situated in a prime location. With 144 recently refurbished rooms, including 35 suites (some designed by French designer Jacques Garcia) it’s also among the most luxurious resorts in the world, the recipient of AA five red stars.
And now it boasts a fabulous, recently renovated spa too. ‘Spa’, from the Latin, stands for ‘Salus Per Aquum’, meaning ‘health through water’, and that’s exactly what the Kohler Waters Spa, which specialises in marine and aromatherapy treatments, aims to provide.
Constructed by architects Sedley Place, the 25,000 sq. ft. space includes 13 treatment rooms, with two couples rooms and two wet treatment rooms offering Kohler bathing experiences, from an ice fountain with Kohler Real Rain, to a cold plunge pool, and a hydrotherapy pool for therapeutic bathing.
As part of the £8m renovation, a new 20m lap pool has also been added alongside a gym area, group exercise studio and cardio and resistance stations, with instructors on hand to lead classes through their paces. A Finnish sauna, rooftop garden with hot tub and steam room, for deep muscular relaxation and detoxification, are also on offer.
Guests can also expect highly customised treatments by the spa’s therapists, as part of the ‘custom time’ menu, where they will receive a personalised treatment programme. The ‘Comfort Zone’, ‘Phytomer’ and ‘Voya’ therapies all employ positive natural ingredients: for example, seaweed has anti-inflammatory and soothing qualities, Himalayan salt is a good detoxifier, and mineral rich peat has restorative and healing properties. Meanwhile, manicures and pedicure treatments have been expertly crafted by pedicurist-to-the-stars, Margaret Dabbs.
To celebrate the re-opening, Kohler Waters Spa is offering an exclusive package from £260 for two people, including a 50 per cent saving. The offer includes a Classic Prescription Facial and a Custom Back Massage each, as well as lunch for two in the brand new spa café and use of all Kohler Waters Spa facilities.
