Veuve Clicquot has announced the 2025 shortlist for its annual Bold Woman Awards, celebrating exceptional women in business.
Now in its 53rd year, the awards are the longest-established accolade of their type, encompassing the Bold Woman award, recognising women at the helm of established business and the Bold Future award, which celebrates businesses in operation for less than five years.
Inspired by the courageous and innovative spirit of Madame Clicquot herself, who took over the champagne house in 1805 after her husband’s death, candidates are judged on whether they uphold her legacy of audacious femaleboldness.
On this year’s UK shortlist are LSE CEO Dame Julia Hoggett DBE, CEO of the Elton John Foundation, Anne Aslett and founder of Little Moons, Vivien Wong, with award winners to be announced at the end of April.
Finalists for the Bold Future award include Ayesha Ofori founder of Propelle, the UK’s first female-focused investment platform, Insiya Jafferjee co-founder of sustainable packaging material company Shellworks and Bloom Money founder Nina Mohanty, a company creating financial tools for immigrant communities.
“These groundbreaking leaders are redefining business excellence. Their achievements go far beyond profits to inspiring future female entrepreneurs…demonstrating that doing things never done before leads to both commercial success and meaningful societal change,” noted Jean-Marc Gallot, president of Veuve Clicquot.
Winners of the 2025 awards will follow in the recent footsteps of business luminaries such as Tracy Blackwell, CEO of Pension Insurance Corporation, Professor Sarah Gilbert who led the development of the University of Oxford’s COVID-19 vaccine and Selfridges Group CEO Anne Pitcher.
Award judge, Bridget Lea, VP of Snap Inc., added: “In a society where women often have to work twice as hard as men, face systemic barriers, shorter tenures in leadership roles and less funding, these remarkable women aren’t just pushing forward, they’re paving the way for every woman who follows.
“This year’s shortlist is an incredible group of women, creating solutions to some of the largest problems we face as a planet. They are pioneers in their sectors, blazing a trail for others to follow.”
